國際工作營快報

國際工作營快報由願景青年行動網協會(VYA)編輯，VYA是一個以青年為主體的非政府組織，成立於2002年，致力推動「青年生活公益化」、「公益參與國際化」的理念，積極參與國際志願服務網絡。

快報每週摘錄自亞洲志願服務發展協會 (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia，NVDA)、聯合國教科文組織下國際志工協調委員會（CCIVS at UNESCO），及歐盟志願服務組織聯盟 (Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations)等三個重要國際青年志願服務網路之3-5則最新重要國際訊息，提供國內推動青年公共參與之校園伙伴、政府機構及社區NGO等參考，也期待台灣青年能在國際上越來越活躍，辦演一個積極的世界公民。

國際快訊（2011/4/13-4/20）

2011年是聯合國「國際森林年」，主題為「我們的森林」。聯合國大會秘書長Ban Ki-moon指出，今年將提升各種森林管理管道，並加強保育與永續發展意識。
聯合國表示，雖然全世界的森林砍伐率維持極高，但根據聯合國針對全球森林狀態的雙年度報告指出，森林消失速率有下降的趨勢。

全世界目前至少有16億人仰賴森林資源維生，其中有6千多萬人以森林為家，如原住民部落。
FAO林業部總幹事Eduardo Rojas表示：「適逢國際森林年，我們需要強調人與森林間的關係，以及在地居民以永續創新方法管理森林，對人們的好處。」

1、志工工作：第一週：協助達蘭薩拉當地社區發展，並提供台灣不同社區發展類型供社區參考。

第二週：會有比較多的時間與藏族文化交流。

2、在地生活：工作營期間將會居住在RUCHI的志工中心，工作之餘可以參訪藏族及印度教廟宇、到附近山區健行

3、服務地點：達蘭薩拉（Dharmsāla），西藏流亡政府的政治中心，又名為「小拉薩」

Location: The workcamp will be divided between two places of Dharamshala and Bandh in Solan Dt. Dharamshala, is a small but internationally well known town in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is 70 km north of Pathankot city and 15kms from Kangra town. Dharamshala offers a number of treks to tourists and a good majestic view of great Dhauladhar range of mountains. Dharamshala is a district head quarter for Kangra district and also happens to be the Secretariat of Tibetan spiritual leader, The Dalai Lama. Dharamshala offers tourists culture of Tibet and a different experience. Like any other hilly area, the houses in the area are scattered. The economy of the Tibetans is on tourism whereas that of local villagers is purely dependent on agriculture. Bandh in Solan district is a small village which also houses RUCHI’s headquarters.

Work: This camp will involve both exposure visit as well as physical work. The first week will see more physical action when they will visit various community development projects and work on them with the local people. Volunteers will work with various rural village communities and share their knowledge on various models of community development. The second week will be more or less touristic when the volunteers will be shifted to Dharamshala town, the home of Dalai Lama, where an exposure to local as well as Tibetan culture will be provided. Thus the camp will provide opportunities to get exposed to local and Tibetan culture and share each other’s culture and broaden horizons of volunteers on issues concerning environment and livelihood.

Accommodation: Volunteers will live under simple conditions and share accommodation with other volunteers. Asian squat type toilet and English WC will be available. Vegetarian food will be served. A cook will be there but volunteers are expected to help him and occasionally cook their own meals and self-management is required. Sleeping bags are also necessary.

Leisure time: The volunteers will have opportunity to visit the seat of spiritual leader, the Dalia Lama and other historical Hindu temples. Opportunities will be there for short and long treks in the mountains. After the camp volunteers, if they like, may visit Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.

International Terminal: New Delhi (320 Kms); Domestic Terminal: Chandigarh (65 kms)

Nearest railway station: Kalka (30kms) from Bandh village and Pathankot (60kms) from Dharamshala.

Participation Fee: 15,500 Indian Rupees. The extra fee is because of Touristic place.

志工工作：SMILE在當地設立了一所非正規學校，協助讓貧民窟的小朋友可以上學，志工主要協助英語教學、音樂、手工藝製作、戲劇、瑜珈等活動，幫助小朋友學習。

2、服務地點：Madhyamgram，位於加爾各達(kolkata)市中心20公里處，是一個平靜的小村莊

Location: Madhyamgram ,West Bengal

Project name: Happy Home Project

Short description: Madhyamgram is located 20 k.m from the center kolkata. It is a peaceful village with electricity, internet and good transportation facilities. Local markets are very attractive and cheap. There are thousands of families who came from Bangladesh as a refugee and staying in their shanty settlement for years in these areas. Most of the people lives here belongs to the poor & middle class families. SMILE has its centre located at this place where organization has it's first non formal school setup under Happy Home project for the needy kids from the local slums . Most of the kids coming at this school are from refugee families. We need volunteers who can teach these kids basic English, art & craft,music,drama,yoga,etc. Volunteers of all age are welcome at this project. Your every moment would be valuable and enjoyable by all means. Volunteer can witness the beauty of the Indian village in this area. After noon time volunteers are requested to prepare the lesion plan for the next day.
